I have lived in Nethermayne for many years and have taught in secondary schools across the Borough too. I am standing in this election because I want to help make a difference in the lives of the many which includes me and you. Over the time I have lived here, I have seen the town grow and prosper, I have also seen it fall into neglect and disrepair.
It’s time we put a stop to this. We need a new approach to become a safe and thriving community that offers care to the elderly, security to families and hope to our young people. We need housing for the next generation. We need to improve the policing in the area, so that people can feel and be safe again. We need to improve the general environment, to keep it clean and tidy, to press for repairs to our roads and pavements, to our street lights and find means of addressing parking.
We need to make Basildon an attractive proposition for businesses both large and small, so that our town centre thrives, meaning decent work opportunities. We also need to protect our play areas, parks and green spaces. We need to protect the facilities we have and improve on them where needed.
Together we can make that difference and I look forward to working with you to achieve it.
Vote Labour on May 3rd for a better Basildon.
