Basildon_Golf_CourseAs Labour’s parliamentary candidate for South Basildon and East Thurrock it has been a privilege to meet and support many residents with various issues relating to life in our part of south Essex. This past weekend I joined local residents who have real concerns about disturbed badger setts on Basildon Golf Course.

As a member of the NEC on the Labour Animal Welfare Society (LAWS) I know that residents in the constituency have a real love for their animals, whether domestic pets or our outstanding wildlife in the area. At Wat Tyler Park, Cory Nature Reserve and in other parks, sporting venues and open spaces, we are blessed with a wide range of natural beauty and wildlife. During my campaign I will continue to speak up for animal welfare alongside the needs of residents and local business. There is room for everyone and I hope the local council will work closely with businesses and residents who are rightly concerned, as I am, that we protect and respect the natural balances of nature in our area.
